Arrow Course
coordination activity for kids 4+
Lay the arrow sheets on the floor and jump the path.
In short
Arrow Course turns the floor into a game board. Printed arrow sheets lie as a path in the hallway or living room, and your child jumps and moves from sheet to sheet. The activity suits preschoolers with lots of energy. It practices directions like left and right, whole body coordination and energy with control.

See the printable packWhen it fits
- On rainy days, when your child really needs to burn off energy indoors.
- In the afternoon after preschool, when the energy from the day needs somewhere to go.
- At a birthday party or playdate, as a small course for several kids taking turns.
What your child practices
- Body coordination
- Directions
- Energy with control
Up, down, left and right are words kids need all the time, when getting dressed, giving directions and later when reading and writing. Occupational therapy pages describe how to practice these directions through movement. Arrow Course combines this with jumping and landing, the kind of movement that kids with lots of energy look for anyway.
Works well before or after
Before, the Cross Crawl March makes a good warm-up. Afterward, Statue Poses help bring the energy back down before it is time for the table.
