Looking closely and telling mirror images apart is something kids need for reading and writing, for example when b and d or p and q look alike. Occupational therapy sites describe telling similar pictures apart as part of visual perception. Card Match adds describing with words, and with that the language for top, bottom, left and right.

Works well before or after

Before, Picture Recall is a good fit, since it also practices looking closely. Afterward, Wrong Color works well if your child still feels like a game with color rules.
